An Experiment Gone Wrong

An Experiment Gone Wrong

Hi there! I just did another piece of art. I used ink to draw this picture. I also used a red pen to do some red outlining. This piece is about a scientist who tried to experiment on mutation on a man with some alien cells. The outcome of the experiment was a creature which he could not control. The creature is the first of many as it can multiply itself! Our earth is going to have lots of problems because the scientist has not been responsible!

Enjoy the art work!

Chameleon (And NO... this is not a Boy George's song!)

Although I have not been blogging for a while, I have been drawing, painting and doing art installations. If you think I can draw anime, think again! I can also do some other stuff. I was introduced to Brenda York by my art teacher. I like her art because her paintings are abstract and even weird, they are beautiful and colourful. If you want to know more about Brenda York, you can go to this website: http://www.brendayork.com/ . Yes, she still paints and she is a modern artist. She likes to draw faces.

In August this year, I attempted to paint a face, using Brenda's style. This art piece is called : The Chameleon. A chameleon has super camouflaging powers. Sometimes, we also are like chameleon because we play many roles. We are children, pupils, playmate, netball players, friends, neighbours etc all squeezed into one person! My drawing tried to show this. I used acrylic paint to do this painting. I took 2 whole days to complete this piece. I enjoyed this medium as the colours came out very strongly.

I hope to see your comments!

My Debut @ Cosfest 2013

Hello! Sorry for not updating  my blog for quite some time. Yesterday, on 7 July 2013, I attended Cosfest at Downtown East. I went as the character called Matryoshka by Gumi and Hatsune Miku. Gumi and Hatsune Miku are also known as Vocaloids which are singing voice synthesizers.

The character that I am Cosplaying!
I chose this character as it was rather simple to dress up as and I really like their music. I only started doing the costume a day before the event.

On Saturday, 6 July, I started drawing the buildings on top of the character’s head. I used marker pens and drew the high-rise buildings on drawing paper. Then on Sunday morning, my mom took me to Maple House at People’s Park to buy more materials such as a green wig, biker gloves, glue and face paint. When I returned home in the afternoon, I set to work on securing the buildings onto the hairband with scotch tape. It was difficult, but I did it!! After that, I applied face paint onto my face. I used mostly black and white. I had to re-do it because I had used so much black that I looked like the lead singer of Kiss!

We went off at about 4pm. Once we arrived at Downtown East, we saw a lot of cosplayers there. I recognised Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titan and many, many more. I must have been one of the youngest there as most were in their late teens or twenties. I felt overwhelmed as when I saw other people’s costumes, it looked as if they had spent a bomb on it. Nevertheless, I felt happy because everything that I did was all done by myself. Both Daddy and Mommy were very proud of me.

Insidious (The Darkness)

Hi! I am truly sorry that I have not been blogging for quite a while as I had a lot of things going on the past few months. Anyways, since I have some free time after my exams, I decided that I could post some of my drawings.

I have created another character. This drawing that I have posted is one of my original creations, named "Insidious (The Darkness)". Insidious is able to summon a huge, powerful and terrifying beast.... from his hair! How I was inspired to draw this was that I happened to come across an artist who drew a monster and another creature came into existence from its hair. I wished I took note of the name of this artist.

I am really happy how this character of mine turned out. Hope to see your comments about this truly, horrifying beast! Give me comments either in this blog or my facebook!
